I am so pleased to have so many interested in my work! Thank you all for reading the article on me and my business. I would like to say thank you to Laura Carrell, the writer of the wonderful article. She made me look like a saint! I assure you all that I am still a work in progress, getting better everyday! I feel that she captured the essence of who I am and provided a way for me to reach a greater audience. Through this process, she has become my beloved friend! Thank you Laura! You are the "saint"! Thank you all!

A big thank you to all of my fantastic students! I relished every moment we spent at the round church tables. Everyone created some beautiful pieces. I was inspired by the variety I found in color choices and application of skill and technique. The time we spent seemed to fly by as we all learned about each other and polymer clay. I was also proud of how well my first time students absorbed the information.

I am considering dates for my next class and would appreciate your participation in the poll on the side bar. Comment your ideas for class projects as well.

I hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did. I was in Boneparte, IA participating in their fall art show. Praise God! If you were one of the new friends I made and have a hand made bead of your own or one of my pieces, I thank you for spending time with me! If you saw a piece that you loved but had the self control to walk away... If you can't stop thinking about it... Contact me. I may still have your favorite.

Many of you were interested in taking my latest polymer clay class. So... Here are some details. We will be making pens that will make great gift ideas for this Christmas season. Hey Clay Gang!

FYI---- I wanted to update all of my devoted students! I had originally planed to host an August class. However, due to scheduling and family commitments an August class is out of the question. I have scheduled a date for September 9th at 5:00 pm. We will meet at the basement of The Church @ 4th and Washington in downtown O'town. If you are interested in participating in this class please contact me via email at sarahziegler1@gmail.com

There is a $15 prepay to reserve your seat and if you are unable to attend, you forfeit your prepay. The total price for the class is $40. The remaining $25 is due on or before the day of the class.

Your tuition will afford you all of the supplies and tools needed to complete a one of a kind Stretchy Bangle. This project has several embedded skills that can be applied to other projects. You will also receive expertly written directions that include a picture diary of the steps described to enhance your understanding of the concepts presented.

A Great Clay Day!

It seems that any time girls get together around clay they have a ball! Our last clay day was heaven come to earth! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves tremendously and created wonderful works of art. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to all of my students, both past, present and future, for your dedication to this medium and to exploration. You are all so fabulous! I encourage you to keep experimenting and make sure you all bring your work to class so that you can dazzle us with your talent and growth. The next class will be late in August. Dates will be finalized soon. Stay tuned....

I wanted to share some fantastic news! Kyla Hernandez, an O'Town Ploymer Clay Artisan (and my personal hero), is now a published artist! She had some of her work published in Adventures in Bookbinding by Jeannine Stein author of Rebound. The book is available through Boarders, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon. If you click on the preview of the book you can see one of hers on page 6. It is the green cover with the pink cherry blossoms. The full write up is on page 83. This is a BIG deal and we should all congratulate her for this wonderful recognition! Check out her Blog at http://khernandezart.blogspot.com/

I also want to throw out an idea for my next advanced class.... I thought that we might do a swap of some sort. I would like us all to create 16-24 beads in a color theme at home using all of your creative genius and then bring them to class for a swap. We will all have beads that we can share that are in a color family. They will create an eclectic blend of genius that we can combine with our advanced project. You will use our previous lessons and any other skills that you have learned, create 16-24 beads that are your one of a kind works of art, bring them to the class and share 2 with each of you class mates. So start thinking about your design now. Think Blues and Greens.... Try to incorporate skinner blends, cane work, and interesting bead shapes, and try to make you beads between 1/2 inch and 1 inch in diameter.

I cant wait to see what you have created! Good luck and God Bless!

Clay Days Rock!!

We had another fantastic day of playing with clay! I enjoyed working with very competent students and we created some beautiful pieces. I am ashamed to say that i do not have any pictures to share with you. I was hoping that my students would sent me photos of them strutting in their works of art. Sadly, i received none...:( Oh well! Anyway, we learned the ancient technique of Mokume Gane. It was amazing to me how fabulous and unique each piece was. I am constantly in awe of the variety that emanates from one class all using the same technique. What wonderful works of art!
Planning for a June Class! More information to come!
Blessings!

I hate to break it to you!!

I had a wonderful time hanging out with the Championship bowlers this weekend at Bridge City Bowl in O'town. I met some "Spicy" gals and enjoyed sharing my wearable art with them. They took advantage of the first time unveiling of my newest collection called "Riches". The problem is that now i need to get busy building up my inventory again. This new Collection is so much fun. Each piece is composed of coin like disks that connect to each other creating a regal quality that inspires envy. As this collection develops, you will see reversible pieces that emerge, like the piece below, which allow the wearer to rock two looks in one fabulous piece. Keep your eyes open for the newest pieces in coming posts and shows. I hate to break it to you all, but the pieces you see here were purchased before i could get them posted. As i always say, "Get them while you can!"

Digging Out From the Snowpocolyps!

We were hit with the one two punch of ice and snow! I have a 3 to 4 foot drift on my back porch! it took my father-in-law 45 minutes to blade the driveway with his tractor!! It normally take less than 15 minutes! That's a lot of snow! The good thing is that we got 2 snow days and counting! My husband just received word that he has a snow day, too! This is the best day ever!

Snow Day Feast!

Here are a few more of my polymer clay creations. Enjoy this feast for the eyes!

This is one of a series called "Strut" that showcases the rich jewel-tones of the fashion forward Peacock Feather. Keep your eye on the runways, peacocks are all the rage! Could you "Strut" your stuff in this one of a kind statement piece?

Natural yet modern... This necklace is a one-of-a-kind wonder of color and style. It respectfully nods to the organic form of coral yet commands attention with a modern twist.
One of a series called "Serengeti Skies" with luminous blues and earthen browns, this piece creates the illusion of light. It's structure creates the perfect framing effect of the face.

Titled "Revere", this two tiered necklace with its illusion of stained glass and versatile blend of color begs to be envied.

A wonderful blend of reds lends itself to many options in your wardrobe.

Sorry gang, this piece is already spoken for. But I thought you might enjoy the vibrancy it had to offer. Titled "Spicy", it screams for attention.

Something to Warm You Up!

Please enjoy these pieces from my newest color study. My inspiration came form my own longing for cool spring days with fresh breezes, and how God blends together the colors of spring. The greens of spring are unique to the season of rebirth and I feel a sense of impatient anticipation at the thought of springs gentle breezes mingled with delicate sun kisses and baby fresh greens. Looking out the window jars me back to reality, but it is still nice to look forward to the blessings beyond the 4 inches (and counting) of snow and ice. Have fun perusing and if you see something you like, contact me.... sayziegler@pcsia.net.

Sacramento Show

I was lucky enough to be able to do a home show while i was home in California with my family! talk about killing two birds with one stone! It was so much fun to be at home for the new year to spend some quality time sharing my adorable children with my parents and show off my jewelry. It was great to be able to offer my hostess free jewelry for the time and effort she put into the show. She received one free necklace for every $150 in sales that she proctored with her guests. She made out like a bandit! She earned three free necklaces! I also exclusively offer her paying guests free coordinating earrings with every necklace purchase! Its a great way to get fabulous coordinating one of a kind art jewelry.
